Q: Who do I talk to for more information about APOC?

Q: Can I work full-time while working towards my M.A. degree?
A: The short answer is you may work full-time while in the M.A. program, but you will be quite busy. Classes are scheduled in the evenings, and most of our students work during the day while in the program. However, the APOC M.A. requires a full course load - there is no part-time option. Also, certain components (such as the summer internship) may be difficult for some to complete while working full-time.
Q: When does the program run?
A: The program starts each year in January and ends in December. Students have courses or other components (internship, final project) each semester during the year: spring, summer, and fall.
Q: Where is the one-year M.A. taught?
A: The Master’s degree is taught through the Communication Management program at the Annenberg School for Communication. Most classes are held on USC’s downtown campus.
Q: Is the APOC one-year M.A. taught online?
A: No. Classes are taught in person on the USC campus. Attendance on-site is required of all students in the program. Please take into consideration that you will have to move to or live in the Los Angeles area to participate in the program.
Q: Does APOC offer a Ph.D in Online Communities?
A: The Ph.D candidates on our team are research assistants and are part of the doctoral program at the Annenberg School for Communication. We currently only offer a M.A. in Online Communities. Please see the Annenberg website for information on the Ph.D program at the Annenberg School.
Q: Can I contribute my articles to your database?
A: The database is not currently open to all submissions. However, we always seek to remain contemporary with the latest academic developments. Feel free to articles for consideration.
